Mad may not be the right word.  He’s still making money, but definitely damaging his gigantic ego!   tmbz1

Let's be honest,  Aaron's had a lot of success at Nfld whether you like him or not, but.....he also drove a lot of juiced horses and for trainers that don't have hot stables anymore at Northfield.  He never was dominant at any other track.  He knew how to get around Nfld and often everyone took a back seat and raced for second.  When the big boys came to town for the signature races he was common.

I’ll bet if he stays at Northfield all season he will win the driving title by more than 100 wins.

Why would he go to Delaware?  Northfield’s purses are better.  Doesn’t make much sense.

Well they consistently race 15 races a night 4 days a week.  Sundays card has a total purse of $193,000.  I personally don’t think the driving colony at Northfield is as good as Dover.  If Wrenn drove at Northfield ever night it might be comparable.

Dover races 4 days as well and maybe not 15 every night but their purses still exceed Northfields! Dover's Thursday night card did over 211K for 14 races!

He told me he was going to Hawthorne Until Cumberland  and Northville open up then he will split time between Maine and Michigan.
But fatty pritzker banded Hawthorne from racing so he will have to go with plan B.

  • dougie: IIB, I think the mayor will sign the bill if it reaches his desk. The optics on this issue is bad for the horse carriage industry. Animal activists are adept to using the media to enlist horror and anger by the public.

  • Ignorance Is Bliss: It's now a bill with city council. Public hearings will be scheduled then the council votes on it. If passed it's sent to the Mayor to sign into law. He has already said he's in. Marte just took over, Bob Holden is the actual author of the bill who retired last year.

  • dougie: IIB, I have been reading some of the work Councilman Marte has been doing on this issue. I think he might be successful with passing the 'Ryders Law" Bill this time around. The image of the horse dead on the street has even been seen here everywhere. If the animal activists can get this on the ballot, who knows how the vote will go.
