Everyone met on NEWS YEARS EVE and celebrated. I'M young and so be my MOM,DAD,and all uncles and AUNTs. But the next day,they all out and about goin to all older homes to celebrate as the older are home bound. And the tradition was: Them older put out a spread of saueges and other home cooked and one would par-take. And the other tradition was one had to drink a shot of whatever. I'SS no not how they did it. And at every place us kids would VINCH. That is the GERMAN tradition from this sect. VINCHIN is sayin in GERMAN; I WISH YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS and A HAPPY NEW YEAR. And then each KID was givin a SILVER DOLLAR. Your pockets were so loaded with SILVER DOLLARS because you also ran into uncles that your pants where goin fall down. A VING EYR CLICKS ALAYA NAYA SHORE. That tradition died with our parents,much like me softball career. We took over from parents and no one took over from us.
