Sounds like the owner isn't too bright, maybe wants to stir shit, was told things that were very attractive yet to be revealed.

Not horse racing related but I, many of us have been through similar stuff as an employee, business partner, owner, you got to get on your horse and ride, motivated and to better opportunities.  Starting with a long term plan to never be dispensable again.  No fan of his, but I think Burke set that type example for the entire industry.

As a gambler - non horseman / owner no one much cares what I think, but certain aspects of business, personal are universal - to be independent, never be dispensable and always invulnerable.  Work smart toward that, never do anything that you have to lose sleep or look over your shoulder - and GOOD LUCK!
