So which harness tracks can claim similar? None that I know including Freehold, Northville, Pompano, Cal Expo. How about Monticello, Saratoga, Plainridge, Pocono and Yonkers. Really on Deters?  I was in his barn a few times during the summer at Tioga.  Lots of horses, lots of work being done.  Very competent help there also.  I also had dinner with him and his friends on my last visit (and he picked up my dinner tab up).

I agree Raging pace. I had 4 cheapies at Pompano Park and never saw a trainer inject a horse. I never knew who was legit or chemists. All I know is my partners and I lost lots of money in "The Game".

I’ve had horses with Mike Deters for over 20 years, and I’ve never had 1 dq’d for drugs.

 I wasnt referring to attendance but the fact that most sports, businesses, and politicians cheat as much or more than racing.

Ok I get it but I still don’t agree 100%. No argument about dishonest politicians because that’s the norm. Businesses can definitely stretch the truth, or even the laws, but most are relatively honest. Sports is very subjective because many dishonest actions have been documented like Deflate Gate, the Black Sox WS scandal, false NFL injury reports etc. But 99% of all games are honest efforts in my opinion. This cannot be said of harness racing. Decades ago it was always the honesty and efforts of the drivers that were scrutinized.Today, in a total shift, it is the cheating chemists called trainers under scrutiny. If you haven’t noticed every single week the USTA publishes a list of drug cheating trainers. The betting public reads these reports and continues to move their betting resources to other venues where they believe they are getting a fair shot.  In recent years the biggest, and supposedly best trainers, have been caught with illegal drugs. Then after being found guilty the powers that be issues “stays” that can delay punishments for years while they continue to race and cheat. It is the only sport that refuses to police itself aggressively and why the sport is destined for extinction.

Hey dingus, you say deters has 2 wins at Batavia , WRONG ! If you are trying to  defend him, get it right. At least 4 wins, on 9/20 mirragon, 9/24 American delight n, and last night he had 2 winners so that at least 4, not 2. I know all owners and workers want to defend their great trainers, but when you get nailed you got take some bullshit. It’s all good till you get caught then everyone has all the excuses what happened , why the trainer gets nailed. Everyone can be the best trainer if you juice to the gills. Lots of crooked drug using trainers .
