"You can't put restrictions on a fair stake, it wasn't an overnight This isn't the first time it's happened. It's Ronnie, he'd rather make a few bucks than just qualify."

Appreciate the response Jupiter.

How is it classless?   If he wants to give his horse a tightener trip he has 3 choices.

1. Enter him in with the horses he needs a tightener to face.  Take the horse back off the gate and give him an easy mile. Basically stiff the horse, fuck the betting public and be a stain on the sport.  If judges handed out suspensions properly this wouldn’t be an option but sadly that’s not the case and scumbag trainers and drivers still choose this option ( Chantilly’s first loss is a prime example)

2. Put him in a qualifier .  Earn zero money

3. Race him in a low level stake race he IS ELIGIBLE to because he was PAID into the stakes.  He doesn’t stiff the horse.  He gets his easy mile and gets some money from a stake program he PAID into.

I have absolutely no issues with Burke for choosing option 3.

My issue is with trainers and drivers who choose option 1. Those are the scumbags.  They are the lowlifes.  They are the ones who you should have a problem with..

Fuck those people

And hes probably got a few million on you in the bank... id say what he does works!
I'm guessing he has 30 million more than her in the bank. He owns pieces of all horses.  ngc3 ngc3

maybe the sires stakes committee needs to do better
perhaps have a rule that once you leave the fair stakes to race in a buckeye or sires stakes you are no longer eligible to race in the fair program

Money isn't everything.  You and your sons probably subscribe to my OF.
I feel like this is pushing the smaller trainers out.  Ok great he found a system to make millions.  All the money he has still doesn't make him a good person.
Let a security guard sit in his barn 24/7 like belcher use to have to do. I bet he doesn't do as good as he does without that surveillance.

Burke obviously gives his horses illegal substances. Otherwise he would if never gotten a positive. Right?

He's tested far more than anyone else and rarely gets a positive. Probably the cleanest trainer in the game!

he shouldn't get any if he is a legit by the book kind of guy like you say he is.  hay oats and water right?  I know the air in pa is contaminated, and the horses were breathing.

I can’t stand Burke but this is just a one off because it’s Delaware.  He wouldn’t have shipped to any other fair stake to get a race in

That being said many other Ohio trainers do this - Beaver, Weaver, Schwartz, etc. - and I think it’s a massive black eye.  Ohio has a very healthy fair program that should help to support the lower class horses.  Instead from about mid-July on its stakes horses getting jammed in
