Looking ahead to the "Big A"
« on: August 21, 2025, 07:41:22 PM »
With the Spa winding down and my $5000 bankroll at $4811, I'm setting my sights on the Opening of the "Big A" which starts September 11th. With this being the final racing dates at my favorite track, I hope to be at Belmont on Opening Day when it re-opens. Having said that, my best success has always been at that "Big A" during it's Fall meet. I love NY Racing!

I love the New York tbreds  as well Dougie. Unfortunately I will not be able to play opening weekend there. My wife and I will be on vacation in Cape Hatteras N.C. and it is a non betting state. It works out well though because I save my bankroll for LBJ week., where I get a vacation from my vacation.

It's my favorite time of year. I been a consistent winner during the fall/winter meet. I hope to get down there  a few times to have some Manhattan Clam Chowder and sit at my own table in the clubhouse. LOL! Enjoy your vacation!

Dougie, are you aware this may be the last year your favorite track the big A may be racing? Belmont has been undergoing a renovation to make it a year round track due to open in 2026 at which time the big A will be closed for horse racing forever.

The first time I went there I was 21 or 22. That winter inner track was fairly easy to handicap. I remember going there when it was brutally cold and windy outside
