I have some outstanding news for you and everyone at the meadowlands. I bet zero dollars there last saturday night
That is fine. That is your prerogative.
Not true. I've been told dozens of times to go bet something else with my money. 'm simply adhering to your directive and the directive of the people who operate the meadowlands
Can we bring back Joe DeFrank and Ed Gorman?
Joe ran an amazing racetrack considering upwards of 20% of the income generated went to Giants Stadium and Byrne Arena. People forget that Harness Racing paid for everything on that property.
Why should Gural be OK with losing money just because he is a billionaire? I never heard or read something so stupid in my life. That is the problem with Harness Racing. If you don't offer welfare or charity, you are a scumbag. I guarantee he hasn't made a dime since he took over M1 and you douchebags are all bashing him because the gravy train is slowing down. Name another racetrack owner that has done more for the horsemen and the sport than he has. YOU CAN'T!! You're all idiots.
Mike - Can you read? IF IT'S SO FUCKIN BAD THEN SELL. YES WHEN YOUR A BILLIONAIRE YOU DON'T GET TO BITCH ABOUT MILLIONS. Do you think anyone cares if I have i bitch about the price of gas when I drive a Rolls Royce? Get a fuckin clue man....Does anyone ultra wealthy person make more in horses? NO - You think Marvin Katz, George Segal, Frank Antonacci, Bill Pollack, or Ken Jacobs bitch about how much they lose every year in horses NOOOOOO - It's a hobby and entertainment. Applaud Jeff for stepping years ago and saving the Meadowlands. Let's be clear though- it was a no lose deal for him financially AND he raised more money than he put in. You hear Marty Scharf bitching?? He was the largest stake besides Jeff.Jeff would like nothing more for the Meadowlands to go down. He get's to be the savior who tried but behind closed doors he has his middle finger up your ass saying " these suckers just let me build a billion dollar casino for 17 Million and my money is guaranteed 110%"Now if you need me to draw you some pictures or write in crayon so you can understand let me know.
It finally makes sense to me why the place wants gamblers to stay quiet and go somewhere else with your money
I'm sure that's what casino patrons will want to hear if by some remote chance he gets one at M1.
180 degree difference in how casinos and sportsbooks treat me. They act like a normal business who wants and values my business. As a gambler, racing treats me as a complete nondesireable degenerate dirtbag. All they want from me is to go away and bet somewhere else. Anywhere else. Just not with them.
It's his show. Gamble and race somewhere else. It is irrelevant what his motive was for buying the M1 business, as obtaining it was open to anyone.
Wow, Mike — thank you for that profound revelation. “It’s his show.” Genius. Never would’ve figured that out without your help. Let me guess, next you’ll tell me water is wet and the sky is blue? Yes, Jeff owns the Meadowlands. Yes, anyone technically could’ve bought it — just like anyone can technically buy a Picasso or a private island. Spare me the “open to anyone” fairytale. The point — and I know this is hard — isn’t who bought it, it’s what’s been done since. When someone walks in, stacks the deck, pushes a self-serving agenda, and bullies the people footing the bill, they don’t get to hide behind “it’s my sandbox.” Not when they’re demanding $200K from horsemen and threatening to pull funding if they don’t kneel. That’s not leadership — that’s mob tactics with a media team. But hey, if you’re cool playing cheerleader while someone turns racing into a vanity project with guaranteed profits and zero accountability, by all means — grab the pom-poms. Me? I still believe in calling out bullshit when I see it.
Apparently, you think I care what your opinion is.
