Louprint in Pepsi
« on: June 08, 2025, 06:21:02 AM »
Hopefully he doesn't drink any, or he will test positive ;>>)  However, he should comfortably handle this field.  Wrenn had him shut down and then when he eyed Miller charging, rustled him enough to get there.  He was trying to save as much horse as possible for next week, but he was MUCH the best (no plugs pulled either, although for some horses that doesn't make much of a difference.)

In any event, even money or better he is worth a good rattle next week.  Wait for the post draw to see what can come under him for the exacta.

Louprint got an easy trip in the elim. The final will be faster. I not so sure he was within himself. Wrenn urged pretty good in deep stretch & he just made it. Will he be on the lead in the final? If so I believe will face some pressure & could spill.

I think he and Captain Optimistic will be very close in odds.

I didn't think either of his first 2 wins this year were that impressive but the horse knows how to win. He also may have wanted to save something for the final.

What I'd love to see would be a 48 hour detention barn. But the dummies have no clue to how to clean up the game. Take blood when they arrive and blood after the race. Then you'd see competitive and exciting finishes/racing. Nobody gets it though so the big stables will continue to have an advantage as their pre race programs are simply more comprehensive and effective. Combine that with the top drivers that always get their spots in the race and it results in predictable and boring racing which in turn is killing the sport. Just look at how exciting Boyd's move was in the elim, that is what the sport needs depserately.

Louprint was in the easiest division I believe,  but he did what he had to do to win. It'll be Ronnie Wrenn Jr's biggest most pressure packed drive in his career, so I'm interested to see how he handles it. The most impressive horse to me yesterday was Fallout. Hung the whole mile with those fractions and still got 4th. Horrible drives by Tetrick and Gingras on Sippinonsearoc in that race.

Fallout left the gate with good intentions--then was parked, looped and remained parked

not one of Tetricks best drives--but it happens

two weeks ago-Fallout was completely blown away by Louprint at Harrahs PHL--he is no match for that one

Being parked but not driven on a 7/8th mile track is not big deal. He was okay but I didn't see anything that would make me think that horse, if he had drew into the final, would have been a factor. But Tony is not having the best go of it lately and that horse doesn't seem to have come back as a killer. I'm impressed by the Wrenn guy, both last year in the final of the BC and again last night. Just never panics and it's hard to start up horses in the last 200 yards once you have throttled them down. As usual it will most likely be Burke or Takter which is exactly what the sport doesn't need.

Horrific night for Alagna.  Duration drops in behind Miki and Minnie but can’t go with them when the Cover Flow starts, Knockout Round makes a break and looks racky the whole way, Fallout somehow gets rimmed the whole way in an 8 horse field and Beckwith scatters the field when he falls asleep down the backside.

Madden Oaks looks like a unit and could probably benefit from a driver change after Boyd throws down a 53 half in an elim.

The main goal is to make the final, so you don't cook your horse trying to get the lead from post 7 going to the half in 53. Im not saying Louprint is better or not than Fallout.. It just was impressive he got 4th with that trip. In another thread I mentioned this is only these horses 3rd, 4th start of the season. Alot can change throughout the summer. I'm not sure the process but doesn't Fallout get in the final by finishing 4th in the fastest elimination?

Anyone else wonder what Mickey Jr was bitching at Wrenn when they were going to the winner’s circle?

Probably that they would have had 3 in the final if Yannick wouldn’t have driven Sippenonseasroc like Yannick drives everything

Fallout is not in the finals. They randomly drew from the three 4th place finishers and Fast Choice got in.
