in 1991--Miss Easy tried the boys in The M1 Paceshe raced against Precious Bunny in her elim, got crushed ....and was never as dominant after that
Twin B is an absolute monster but she is benefiting from how watered down the mare side has become on both the trot and pace due to breeding. It has gotten too lucrative and all the good ones are gettting put in the shed early. Look at the trotting side - there is nothing - I’m surprised they haven’t brought Allegiant back to pick up some easy crumbs. Chantilly would have to get a trip against the boys but in the big races there just aren’t any breaks and she is used to getting a lot.
What does this have to do with Chantilly? You switched to 4 year olds
Chantilly would not have made the final against the boys, she has never gone that fast
I'm not big on comparing horses abilities based on times, it's like in the old days when some horses used to have time trials to establish a lifetime mark. I think the competition they're facing is much more important. Chantilly has been very impressive but has yet to really be tested, and all her wins have come in Canada. That's not to take anything away from her. You measure a horse's real class when they're facing open company on a regular basis. It's obvious, maybe not to you, that this year's crop of 3-year-old colts is much stronger as a group than the 3-year-old fillies. Can Chantilly compete with them, who knows, but chances are we'll never find out.
I think she would’ve definitely been smoked by the boys.
