In race 8 he does nothing wrong except one thing. He loses to one of the worse drivers in the country, Tim Deaton. Is Eric this bad or is he snakebit

Think it was race 7.   Davis is just there to collect checks.  Most likely he's betting against himself in races.  His record shows with his 2nd-4th place finishes.  He's never one to have on top. 

And who the heck is Deaton and how did he win a race lol

  If he is actually 3 for 153, that means he has a 1.96-win percentage. I would think it is safe to say, you could find any person standing on the street, give them the reins, and they could at least have a 2%-win rate.
