Pelling was the first one to bring it around.. He has no heart he gave him a box of soda and a half a pound of confectionery sugar.

LOL - are you crazy?  Tom Artandi was using soda on Goalie Jeff.  Brett Pelling didn't bring baking soda around.

You’re all slightly wrong. Crogan
Absolutely correct.. Crogan started it in Cali and Pelling was his right hand man..

Dr. Borthwick and Dr. Woods were pre-racing with bicarb jugs long before any of those clowns from down under ever set foot on US soil.

Couple of minor corrections and additions.  Brian is his step-father.  Horse's name was Prince Sharvid N.  Brian got suspended for 5 years for fixing a race.  https://www.chicagotribune.com/1987/12/18/maywood-suspends-2-in-trifecta-manipulation/

thanks for posting this

the trifecta paid what about what would be expected for $3

unless bets were made in other pools with bookmakers-there isn't anything in the payoffs that would point to a fixed race

the investigation is still open from 1987 apparently

Malcolm Borthwick was big with a foot block and the bicarbonate jugs that did not have the same effect as a box of soda and confectionery sugar nowhere near it.

Make no mistake about it... the down under people were responsible for the destruction of harness racing the French Canadians they didn't help matters any

I got to Liberty Bell in 1977 and they were already using bicarb jugs.

Here is some more info Papillon.  I believe the investigation was completed late 1980's or early 1990's.  Brian appealed his 5 year suspension in 1991.  It was denied.  He applied for a training license each year for quite a few years after he served his 5 years before the Illinois Racing Board finally relented and he trained one or two for a while.  Nothing like his massive pre suspension stable.

The ingredient that is performance enhancing is the baking soda. The point of adding confectionary sugar and wind aid was so baking soda made it to blood stream and didn't pass straight through to the hind gut and out of the horse's ass. A bicarb jug eliminated that process, as it was injected straight into blood stream.

I get it.. You know I forgot about the wind aid! I remember Elliott was using the famous OJ

The dumb ones. The smart ones will continue using bicarb jugs.

The smart ones who will be getting the TCO2 positives?
