I swear I saw Sunday racing at the swamp February and March . Now I don’t see it there . Freehold racing is removed at the swamp ?? Anyone know anything?

Amazing that the track mgt would not issue a notice if these dates are being Cancelled being that they announced the dates and published them on their website racing dates schedule.
No respect for the horse players that support the product.

Checking their website, I don't see the dates listed as live racing dates anymore. I know they announced they're racing Sundays in February and March. Were those dates ever listed on their calendar as live racing dates?

Pig land they were always on the August calendar. Something happened with the added Freehold dates .

Gural probably made the decision for two reasons, lack of horse inventory and it would cost him more out of pocket to race than not to race? If he saw it as a money maker, he most likely would raced those dates?

Maybe he would have raced if he got Freehold's purse subsidy.

Did they not get the subsidy? Is that what happened?

Haven't heard anything but that could be the reason.

There may be a political process to be followed in order to get those subsidies moved to the Meadowlands and the state doesn’t move fast on anything?

this is probably the case

most would assume, including myself, that M1 receives the freehold share of the subsidy

not exactly sure-but I think the way NJ has it worded is that thoroughbreds get X amount and harness gets Y amount
if that is the case then Gural automatically gets it

good point about NJ being slow in these processes

They haven't taken any days away; (a few have been added) they appear to have been moved (from the Sundays on the earlier Calendar) to previously open dates in fall.

The Meadowlands have been racing 90 dates Per NJRC approval for the last few years, but the current calendar shows 94 dates?
I believe its still subject to changes.

Also, "The New Jersey Standardbred Development Fund races, formerly raced at Freehold Raceway, have been integrated into the schedule throughout the season, insuring no loss of racing opportunities to those horses".

Only Fridays and Saturdays this year,  they lose too much money running other days.
