It's a shame he wasn't eligible for the jug.. going against Nihilator on that track would have been epic.. That mile held the track record there for many years.. I remember as a kid going to Delaware and they had the track records on a sign in the infield.. and for years it was Falcon Seelster for pacers and Peace Corps for trotters

they faced off that year in August on Hambletonian Day in the US Pacing Championships

Nihilator paced a 149 and change and Falcon Seelster was about 2 lengths behind him

another 15-20 lengths back to the 3rd horse

must have 1986 or 87
