Agreed my point is just that for someone who had no interest a year before he became 2 nd leading driver in the county

Looks like he has the wants  to learn attitude Not just coming into it a know-it-all He has something to be proud of for sure
And I'm pretty sure he started driving junk just like all the rest

Turnpike forgets that Beckwith drove 4 hours each way to drive at Freehold and Batavia. Not places where his father trains and very cheap horses. He drove for anyone who listed him. And he won with  a very high UDR. Even look tonight. He's driving cheap horses at the Meadowlands. The kid is a hard worker, smart, and amazingly talented. Turnpike obviously doesn't like him. I sense JEALOUSY. He's missing out watching a true talent grow.

Ozzy says his success is more from a changing culture than anything else. You would've never seen this during the halcyon days of harness racing. In those days, talented kids struggled to obtain qualifying drives because drivers protected their territory like a street gang.

Not to mention the meadowlands and plainridge too!

He drives for 1 and all depending on who is in each race and what drives he can get.

We all understand that his father has a questionable past!

Get over the jealousy!

Who would be your driver of choice as an owner?

Brett Beckwith
Aaron Merriman
Ronnie Wrenn Jr.

Please add other young drivers so we don't miss anyone!

Working in a barn isn't exactly a glamorous or well-paying job although most drivers start out that way. I'm sure he likes horses alot more these days with over 6 million dollars in purse earnings so far this year.

I grew up in generation where you had to earn something
Not because you didn’t know what you were going to do after high school
Oh and ask him didn’t like or want anything to do with horses when he was in high school less than one year later 2 nd leading driver in states
   Sounds like real talent
Even John Campbell mucked a stall before

Considering his father Mark is a longtime horseman, it surprises me he had no interest in horses growing up. lt is common to learn from the ground up starting out as a groom. Things are different now than they were 50 years ago when Campbell started out. Not sure why some people are offended because he's so successful at such a young age.

A lot of top drivers could not harness a horse, better video game kids then those of a stronger work ethic

Brett Beckwith is a humble and bright young talent bottom line. He puts a horse in a position to win without being a cowboy. He is very patient and gets all he can without being abusive to the horse. He has a long career ahead of him if he keeps his wits about him. Good Luck Brett!

Then Brett is a very lucky young man that he didn’t have to do it the hard way like in the past!  Don’t most drivers today want the same luck. The same applies in the working world. The spoiled rich kids want everything on a platter to them too.

I don't think any knowledgeable fan can argue the kids natural talent. Numbers are huge for such a young pup.
