The only problem with running them off that fast is there isn't enough time to warm up. At Batavia you can only get in three times around.

It would be nice if tracks actually started their race on time instead of 5 minutes past post time. Track management thinks it increases the handle, but it really doesn't, all is does is give bettors more time to wager. If you start your races on time the bettors will adjust accordingly.

Most judges are older and need at least 20 minutes between races to go to the bathroom and get their free coffee! Not to mention there's medication and blood pressure checks.

Its not like you have to stand on line at the cashiers window and then stand on multiple lines to make your win bets, exactas and doubles....

It took them too many years to figure out that you could cash and bet at the same window and make any type of bet at any window. I remember Rockingham had a 2.00 WPS window that forced you to make that bet which not many did. There was never a line at it. There were long lines at the others. To cash you had to walk around the back of the sellers windows to do it.

They used to have individual windows like that at the old Brandywine Raceway. Some tellers may only have had 1 or 2 customers all night.

I wait till the last second to bet, Saturday night Twin B Joe Fresh was 2/5 as the went behind the gate. I bet her $100, and at the quarter pole she was 1/9!

That happens because some of the off track OTB hubs and wagering sites don't send in all their wagers until right before the start instead of in smaller increments prior to off time.

I always felt 18-20 MINUTES would be enough between races.
