Think with Karl getting the trailer we will see Highland Kismet as the favorite when they leave the wings.

Timmy replaces Scotty Z on Dame Good Time which seemed odd but nothing else really of note

Only four full fields, 3 races with 7 horses, 3 with 6 and 2 with 5...Sad. I 've said
it before. The Futurity should have a different name. Complete insult to allow the
winner to be listed along side the past great champs who raced multiple heats. 11.wp 11.wp

I think the final grand circuit weekend at The Red Mile has been hurt by the calendar.  Dayton Derby’s were last weekend, Ohio/Indiana/Ontario Super Finals are next weekend, then Breeders Crown and you still have Matron, Kindergarten, Progress Pace, FanDuel, Governors Cup, Three Diamonds, Valley Victory, etc.  All of those races go for more than the stakes this weekend - some by a lot.

On top of that most of these horses have been racing at Lexington for the last month in their Sire Stakes so the allure has worn off.

I've been a fan of HK since day one. Even before that. I think he has tremendous ability and talent, but I also think he's immature and a bit of a goofball. He's still a bit volatile. But if he's on his game, minds his manners, etc., I don't think there's a 3yo trotter who can beat him. However, he's just not on his game consistently.

That said, I don't know there will be any value with him, yet there are other legit colts in the race. Should be a good race.

kARL AND HIGHLAND KISMET are both good horses in a very bad crop as i see none of these horses good enough to compete against top trotters around the world next year unless they improve big time and it would not shock me to see an upset in the race coming up against a bad crew,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, OLDER horses are also very poor this year but the filly classes with pacers are as good as any crop i have seen,,,,,,

I'd bet money that Karl doesn't race after this year, he'll make more as a sire.

Agree about it being weak. Jiggy Jog and twin b joe fresh have had a very light racing schedule this year and since they raced last week that explains their absence. Nijinsky didn't look right in Delaware so something is going on with him.. The people in charge of Captain Albano might be giving him extra time off after 2 heats and winning the LBJ.

Ninjisky is the leading OSS points getter and the Super Final is next week.  My guess is they didn’t want to run him down and back.

I think the dominance of Jiggy Jog and Twin B have allowed their connections to be very light on their schedule.  No need to overrace them when they fill their coffers so easily

In Twin B Joe Fresh's case there aren't many races for top mares.
