The Black Box Saga
« on: September 29, 2024, 11:16:33 PM »
The corruption at Monticello in the early to mid 80s was insane!  The biggest joke is when they bought a black box and they put $1.50 lock on the office door from Walmart to keep those that were obsessed with the calibration of that box away. Yeah that really did the trick!

How many tracks actually use the black box to test most races as they say they do?

Some state vets will tell there big trainers the reward is win tickets and the vet keeps his/her padding the bill accounts.

I heard from other people at Monti back in the late 80's early 90's stories of a vet walking openly in the stable area holding a funnel, tubing was rampant.
I also heard a funny story of a guy buying up all the baking soda in the Monticello Shoprite.

Rocky the tattoo guy was a hell of a nice guy. John the state was a nice man as well. Sometimes a ringer would slip through.
