Do the math on handles.....
« on: September 21, 2024, 11:55:41 AM »
If the Meadowlands does $100,000 live handle, and $3 million simulcasted handle, talk here states that only 3% of the $3 million goes to the track, or $90,000.  Each race has takeouts in the range of 15%-25% for the bets made. Where does that takeout money go? It comes to around $450,000+ per card on average for the takeouts.

The short answer is, the state, track and horsemen. What are the splits for each, I don't know.

The host track or hub where bets are made get the majority of it.

  • Bitter Truth: That Golden Tempo , I'm afraid is  a money burner. Gets so far back. Was in range but just hung and raced even in the stretch. Didn't see a Derby winner in there in my opinion.
