My first win on Hambo Day!!!!!
« on: August 03, 2024, 02:59:46 PM »
I've been trying all day to pick a "Price" Horse at The Meadowlands. And I finally hit one. I was thinking that I rarely ever see a horse from Larry Stalbaum's stable run in such a big race. He owns. trains. but ain't driving him today. So with $40 left from my $200 bank roll, I bet $10 WPS on the #5 horse! Thanks Mark Macdonald for giving me my biggest winning day in a long while!

Smart bet. Getting lead hands Larry off the horse was all he needed.

Mike, do you think that Stalbaum could have won provided the same trip?

Maybe 15 years ago. Larry is not the same driver he was. He is 61 years old. I know there are a few over 60 that do well but it really is a young man's game as far as drivers are concerned.

I understand. Do you think it's the biggest purse he's ever won? I know he's been to a lot of places.

He has had a great career but I really don't know if he has won a larger purse than today. If I had to guess, I would say he has won larger purses but that is only a guess.

Mike, do you think he could have beat SBSW without Stalbaum? How about Bulldog or Bret, or Life Sign, huh, huh?   ngc3 ngc3 ngc3

just boggles the mind how Runa knocked off the top ffas...i get it overall the crop may not be as strong as many others but thats quite the jump up. Abuckabett was a total no show. Voukefalas had no chance drawing post 10. It seems like Allywag has lost a few steps.  I loved Ruthless Hanovers race here at stunning odds of 29-1. Set those crazy fractions and still held on for 3rd so he is going to be a factor the rest of the year. Its My Show suprisingly is getting better went a big big effort and probably deserved this one. I would like to see Twin B Joe Fresh try the boys once to see how she would fair against this so so group

i know he saved ground but how on earth is he able to go 47.3 with a 26.3 kicker a full second faster than he has ever raced before.
