What's Your Favorite Betting Angle?
« on: June 26, 2024, 09:16:39 AM »
There's tons of them.  My absolute favorite is first time start in North America from UK or Down Under, depending on if the trainer is known for that.

Drop in Class
Horses are for Courses ... high win% at one particular track
1st or 2nd time Lasix
Only front-end speed in race
Fastest final time or last quarter last race
Class of the field
Bounce ... Looking for a bad race off a lifetime record                                 .
1st time start in North America
Ake off a layoff
Overlays .... betting against a suspect odds on horse

Probably dozens more

Trotting hobbles coming off of a younger horse who has been off for a while.

   1)  I bet “ inside out”.  Sample: 5w 4/6.  7w 6/8. Try it. It’sa fun fun bet.
   2)  anytime I bet the 5 I use the 7.  They stick together a lot.
   3)  anything Nancy Takter. I love her.
   4)  anything coming from Hoosier to anywhere. Seems like they race great anywhere they go.
   5)  anytime an out of town owner shows up.
   6)  amateur races who I like to win - then all in the exacta.
   7)  try and beat McDonald every race. If you can find someone who can beat him you get extra odds. If you end up betting him the 3/5 will be 1/5 after the start.
   8) at the meadowlands Tyler Miller off - to just about anybody else.
   9) some nights but not often there are MAJOR TRACK BIASES. I write the date down and literally search for anyone who had fought the bias. I love it when they finish 5th and fought the bias.
  10) I trip handicap every race I bet. Seems like I’m more a week early than winner that night. I always bet the horse I bet the prior week.
   11) try and catch one scoring quickly. (At least you know he’s on go).
   12) when a horse is nothing but a closer and the week prior he’s on the chooch in fast fractions and stops in the lane.
   13) first time juice trainer.
   14) Always go against Dave Little’s best bet.  Always.

EPO horses are the best angle. If you can find out who has the latest EPO from China you'll cash nicely
