The horse was bred in Australia.  They are allowed to use Frozen Sperm for longer over there.  In North America it's only allowed the same year the stallion dies.

99% of all semen is frozen jackass. Very few farms do natural insemination. Spoken like a true non horsemen. That horse was bred in Australia. Different breeding season than here. Was probably supposed to have foaled in 2021 but hung until 2022.

I think 99% is way high.  Some of these studs load can be cut 10 to 20 times.

True but not the breeding season in this case. He died Jan 2018.  This ones dam would have to have been inseminated in 2021 to be 2 now.  Thats a few seasons.

Wrong moron. Maybe 1% use frozen. Most are shipped overnight or same day . Frozen doesnt perform as good.

Frozen is way more prevalent overseas, and in different breeds. There is not nearly as much frozen used stateside in the STB industry IME. A lot of people here don't want to mess around with it bc it can be more difficult to work with (requires more exactitude).

It is interesting they can continue using it long past the horse's death in other countries. I am pretty sure in the US, it's only one additional season past the stallion's death (for STBs).

I remember years ago they would split the semen with powdered milk before freezing. I'm dating myself obviously.
