The battle of lake Erie was self-explanatory.  Big name horses who don't race on 1/2 tracks too often.  At least one of them didn't like the turns.  Fast 1/2 mile of the race, and a slower back 1/2 of the race = closer's paradise and big prices.  A shame that this went for 200k when it was a "glorified open"!
