Good article. Good read. I know the guy who Dan interviewed/wrote about. Like with many professionals he stayed away from some details, which is a good thing, LOL. I also think he exaggerated a bit when he talked about replays hurting him. Worst thing that ever happened? No it wasn't, LOL. For a professional, some small factors that have changed over the course of 20 or 30 years, cumulatively, have made it much tougher. Then you have major factors. More tracks, overlap. ADW's, rebate shops, now CAW. Technology, both with wagering and racing. I made my bones on NY racing. There was a sharp crew of bettors back then and throughout the years. When the Meadowlands opened, most of the professionals from NY migrated there. But like I said, since the
80's and 90's the game has changed a great deal for the professional. I know there are far less professionals showing a profit year over year today than there used to be.

Well its either Jim Demetrious or Jim Cherry. Nhler likely Scott Campbell. NHL ref who liked the races is Andy Van Hellemond, great guy he and I cashed 15k a piece on the Breeders Cup one year.
