They would flock in by the busload. I remember in Canada , it was one of the biggest gatherings I ever saw in the winner's circle. They don't name a race after you for nothing.

Nice post Lance Bunny Lake was pretty damn awesome in her time too. Plus you get Frank Salive thrown in. NICE Wonder if Ledford ever watches that? Pretty good drive, but a gritty ass horse.

Some great mare she was. Ledford drove her most but many others also. I can remember she raced up in Canada in the Roses R Red (I think) & that Ritchie driver that usually drives trotters won the elim & final. I think they were going for 300k. She made everyone involved look good.
