So what ever became of Cedric and his dad Bubba Washington?

Ced still dabbles in the business, good guy, remember Little Apple Do, nice little mare.

Both of these guys were at the top of the game by breaking the rules on a daily basis with the shoeing nails thru the boot heal and the taped up whip butt! How many fines have been given to Purple Jesus is really "Pokem Jesus!"

Taping the whip handle is not allowed? Has that always been the case?

Case sabatoged a career that would have made him the leading driving wins of all time. No one could make one go like Walter.

As a pure driver, i think "Casey' was superior to Williams. As a decent man, i think Lew wins hands down!

are you kidding me if it wasn’t for Jeanette and Edward Freeberg where would he be without Whatabarron!  Case in his prime could make a bad horse look good.

Case was nothing more then and overnight driver. He unlike Sweet Lou couldn’t handle the pressure of driving in the premier events, Hambo WW, LBJ etc, like Lew could. If you disagree just name the premier races he won.
Let’s not forget Lew made What’s Baron, Jilley , New Lew

LEW WAS IN OHIO WORKING ON A FARM AND WAS TRYING TO BEAT HIS DEMONS.  UNFORTUNATELY, LEW WAS DRIVING A TRACTOR AND IT FLIPPED AND TOOK HIS LIFE.

AS I STATED PREVIOUSLY, I HAD THE HONOR OF BEING A FRIEND TO LEW MANY YEARS AND WATCHED HIM HELP SO MANY IN THIS BUSINESS!   HE HELPED THE UNDER DOG WITH JOBS, FOOD AND CLOTHING.  IF HE HAD NOTHING HE WOULD HELP ANY SOUL THAT NEEDED HELP.   HE ALSO DROVE MANY HORSES FROM THE MEADOWS AND OHIO AT THE BIG M FOR FOLKS THAT NEEDED HELP.   SAL GATI WAS A PERSONAL FRIEND OF LEW AND BROUGHT A BUNCH TO THE BIG M FROM OHIO.  JULIAN COHEN BROUGHT IN COURAGEOUS LADY FROM OHIO---YEARS BEFORE ED AND JEANETTE (BOTH OF WHOM WERE DEAR FRIENDS OF MINE AND TRULY WERE WONDERFUL FOLKS)  RECALL JEANTTE AND ED WERE NEOPHYTES IN THE BUSINESS AND LEW BUILT THEIR STABLE HONESTLY AND BOUGHT HORSES LIKE APRILS SKIPPER, WHATA BARON, PRAIRE WALNUT, NEW LEW, BARON GERARD, MILLERS EFFORT, SEATRAIN,SPARE HAND, NATIVE AMBER TO NAME A FEW.  HE DID NOT CHARGE FEES OR AGENCY FEES---HE BELEIVED HIS MONEY WOULD BE MADE DRIVING THESE HORSES.   ED AND JEANNETTE WOULD HAVE STUCK WITH LEW FOREVER IF HE COULD HAVE BEATEN THE DEMONS.

THIS WAS THE HEYDAY OF MODERN HARNESS RACING WHERE TRACKS LIKE THE BIG M, ROOSEVELT, YONKERS, BRANDYWINE, HARRINGTON, DOVER, MONTICELLO WERE THRIVING!

MR.LEW WILLIAMS IN MY OPINION WAS A GENTLEMAN!

For some reason, I remember the tractor flipping over on him was in New Jersey. Not sure. It has been a few decades ago.

Died in Ohio. I know a couple people who worked for Lew, said greatest job ever. Somebody would give him a bag of weed and he'd just give it to the help, he liked something else. Whatever happened to his kid, haven't heard in years. Cadiz, Ohio the home of to some interesting history.
