Mitch Cushing
« on: February 19, 2024, 03:19:18 PM »
What's his deal? 0 for on the start to the season at Saratoga.  I am not making this to bash him I always thought he showed talent especially at Plainridge and his first season at Saratoga but seems to be driving like he's lost right now?   Putting himself in bad spots every race.   Again I thought he showed great signs .... What's going on?

Mitch is a good guy and a good driver, don't compare him to Brett Beckwith, that kid is amazing and wants to be leading driver badly. Whipless racing doesn't affect him at all, he rarely uses it anyway.

Stop
you can’t compare him to Beckwith
Beckwith has freakish amount of power

The best drivers get the most power to drive, trainers aren't stupid.

If Brett stays healthy all year I believe he'll get his first title.  Kid can drive!!

I saw this kid at the Meadowlands. I believe it was a year or two ago. Mitch did not impress. On the positive side he wasn't in the way with bad horses. The best thing I could say is he saved ground many times & then angled trying to get a piece of it.

  • Bitter Truth: That Golden Tempo , I'm afraid is  a money burner. Gets so far back. Was in range but just hung and raced even in the stretch. Didn't see a Derby winner in there in my opinion.
