I hear this all the time ---- What does it mean ? 
Would have harness racing collapsed ? -- 90% of the industry occurs outside of Jersey
Would the breeding industry collapse ? --  Jersey breeding industry has collapsed on it's own, some say w/ help from Gural
Would the Hambo cease ? -- Sure other tracks would bid to hold, similar to Breeders Crown not in Jersey.
Would Amateur racing cease ? -- well maybe -- doesn't affect me....

So when we say he saved the Meds --- the cards are cheap -- best drivers and trainers are working elsewhere part time. 
Would some of the Meds handle move elsewhere -- some, but some money would disappear.... That could be a problem, but ultimately the one true thing Gural was quoted as saying. Every time they turn the lights on (meaning racing), they lose money.

See I agree to some point.... Does New York have a rule that you need a track to have a casino license ? If so like in Ohio, then vernon and Tioga are not closing.

And people for Gural keep throwing around "jealousy"   -- What am I jealous of ? Of the Meds being in operation ? That doesn't even make sense ? 

Personally I think part of the problem in racing is over saturation. Fewer choices to funnel money into less tracks may make for better handles.  Larger fields - better racing.    During the spring and summer, is it vital to the industry to have a dozen tracks racing on a Saturday night ?   Maybe for the horsemen --- but is it good for the customer and the industry ?

Spot on about Burke. When the lsit of 33 trainers banned at M1 came out, I heard from a few trainers, that Burke should have been on that list, but Gural won't do that to Burke.
