It's hard to say what Burke will buy without knowing how many Ohio breeds they have from their own mares.

Just glanced at the numbers, looks like a bloodbath for the breeders.

Might be I am missing some info or the big picture, but the prices look LOW.

This is a lower to mid level sale with yearlings that did not make the cut for the Jug Sale held in September. Big money owners trainers not even looking at this sale outside of just a few horses in here.

I realize that but still, these small time breeders are getting brutalized.

Meanwhile..averag e was up 6% from last year. It is tough sledding being a smaller breeder.

Looks like the Burke Brigade isn’t interested in spending any money at a ‘B’ sale!!  Kudos to them!!

I think the average got dragged up by about 4 or 5 that went for 40-50. I don’t remember so many under 6k horses last year. There were at least 3 that went for less than 2k.

Good point.

I envision some decent horses will come out of that sale - some always do - but it's definitely not the best Ohio has to offer.

I thought the quality was better last year.  A lot of nice horses have come out of this sale in the past. There a a lot of duds in the select sales also. Just not a good year and a lot of owners had to be majorly disappointed.

I know I could be wrong but I race at 4 different tracks and the purse money is only paid to one person as these tracks have no idea what % the listed owners have so Hoosier must be different.
