IMO, between 28 and 40 months.

If Surick gets out in 2-3 years he will probably have a contract on his head to deal with. He may also be a target in prison with all the rats he ratted on. I doubt that some cheating  harness trainer is going to awarded any protective advantages in a federal prison. Surick certainly isn’t Bernie Madoff and maybe more like Jeffrey Epstein when it comes to his final chapters.

I would imagine he will be afforded some protections given he is a cooperating witness past, present and future in an ongoing federal investigation. most likely in a camp pod with dentists and accountants who have cheated on their taxes or bilked medicare.
