I am 60 but feel older because I can remember seeing George sitting alongside his dad jogging horses as a young lad and now he has amassed a HOF career. 40 years blew by me and jerked my bridle!

I remember that too. I met him he was a kid at Monticello

I was there for his first win. Also Jack Rice's first win. Sam his dad was ecstatic.

I don't think Georgie's step dad was there. Banded. Though he does race a couple now.

When you get to awards on the level of HOF in anything, politics is as much a factor as merit. Brennen may lack the proper politics.

Jor Ricco was racing at YR and doing some catch driving in the late 80s  Caught him one night from the 8 hole driving Fortune Frank C for Frank Bonura.
Paid 33.80 to win and keyed a $1300 triple. I made almost 3 grand. The race was a set up and I heard something from inside the paddock.

Jack rice was a fuck up

That may have been one of the last triple race he was allowed to drive in. There used to be 3 trifecta races a day and JR was not allowed to drive in them.

This was like 89 or 90. If he was banned from triple races I never heard of it.  I remember triples were like the 3rd, 7th and 11th . Not sure when they expanded that. Hard to recall every detail.

Georgie is like Schnitiker says what he feels, and laughs it off. Great driver and person, always good for a laugh. Howard and Jimmy should be there for the induction.

As some of you must know, his mother, Marie was a bartender upstairs at Monti, I'll bet some of her humor, wisdom about people and ability to let things slide rubbed off on him. Nice lady and you need those attributes in bartending.
