Whatever happened to? Saratoga style
« on: September 28, 2023, 08:31:05 AM »
Tom Coddington?    Dave Gagner?     Kim Crawford?

I do seem to recall Kim Crawford, talented driver IMO, was caught with a roofing nail in his whip, drew a long suspension and ended up driving a sanitation truck for the town. Anyone know what became of him afterward? or the others?

Dave drove for us for a while up there in my early days. Always seemed pleasant, like he was trying hard. Long ago. Where does the time pass?

Tom Coddington was originally from Monti,  his main owner was Jackie Jordan, eventually raced off of his farm in NJ, the last I knew.

Yes that's right about the owner. I recall that name.

Kim drove at Yonkers but wouldn't work the other drivers. He was a minnow in an ocean and had to go back to Saratoga. Also, he took care of the track at Vernon.

Crawford drove for D Sider down there, but Don didn't have the power he had with Bud, at that time.

Both above statements true.  After RR closed Donny ended up at YR   hHd a few stalls near me. Kopas would send him a few to train. Horses like Fog Patch. Quiet, diligent guy - hated Buddy, who really dicked him over.
