CONFEDERATE!! The saga continues...
« on: September 17, 2023, 04:43:01 PM »
Leaves enough to secure good position, pulls off the rated second quarter and just grinds them into submission. Blazing last quarter, tippy taps then Timmy grabbing up and those earplugs remain in. Such a treat to see him race.

Agree, but what didnt happen........... . many said Command would set a super-fast pace to set up his stable mate.

No reason to go for another record. Today was not the right conditions for it anyway. Too cool and low humidity

The monster Mile of the day was Twin Bee Joe. Absolutely in the grips never stretched out first over into a 48 flat winner!

Yes, Twin B, was very impressive, probably packing 25.1 for his last quarter.  Other observations:

Geocentric-Early favorite (till Breeders' Crown) for 2024 Meadowlands Pace

Karl-Went a "training mile".. not sure what his bottom looks like, but again, we will find that out in the Breeders' Crown

Ari Ferrari-seems to be getting better each time I see him.

Confederate-Fuguzzi is 100% correct that this horse deserves to be considered in the "inner circle" of top 3 year-olds (even without a half-mile dance).  As was pointed out by a previous poster, today was not the day for a "time trial" given the weather, but he was still enormously impressive and, although I have not seen his personal chart, he probably went a 52.2 or 52.3 last half off a relatively soft pace, and was completely in hand, with plugs in coming home.  Made it look easy.

I'm not sure a two year old filly has ever been pointed towards the Meadowlands Pace.

Not sure what other fillies have entered in the past, but, so far this year, fillies have 5 of the top 10 fastest pacing lines and they are 1-2 with Pass Line and Geocentric at the top of the list.  Those two, and Newsroom (horse) are the only sub-1:50 pacers and Geocentric has decent size to her (Pass Line is somewhat smaller.)  Growth from 2 to 3 will decide if we see her going in the MP... could happen!

It happens much more frequently with filly trotters being able to compete on an even basis with the horses/geldings.. but not as much with pacers.

Joe was a freak today --- he just looks like a Mack Truck in high gear and don't get in my way.

Chris Ryder has always been able to tune one up, so why not a Mack truck?

Ain't that the truth. I made the mistake of saying "excuse me ma'am" in a store yesterday. They/them/it took it poorly. I thought I was going to have to leave in an ambalance.

They / them needed a good punch in the mouth. After all, you wouldn't have been hitting a woman.
