I know regular announcer, John Hernan..sorry for any misspelling, has been announcing at Ocean Downs this summer. I just assumed he would return to Yonkers after OD closed which is now. I think John is ok and hopefully will be back soon. We did get 2 nights from the colorful George the King Anthony last week. Too bad no one was at YR to hear him.

Does anyone know why John Hernan is out as the YR announcer?

I believe Hernan put out a release saying thank you for the memories at Yonkers Raceway!  Hopefully moved on to bigger and better things.  Being the race announcer at Yonkers and Roosevelt [RIP] isn't the same job it used to be from the glory days of harness racing!
