Erv is having a poor summer because instead of using Trace to drive most of his 2-year-olds, he's using his inexperienced son in law Atlee to drive these horses.  This is pretty unfair to his owners.  While Atlee is getting the experience that he desperately needs, it's costing Erv's owners many wins and significant money.  i'm sure Erv is aware of it but putting money into Atlee's pocket is more important than worrying about his owners.

I got news for you. If you spend the money that overhiser does on those yearlings an average trainer would be batting north of .300. Why are you so surprised? Not very hard to pay 70-100k for a yearling and win a non winners of 1 and 2. But we figured out the overhiser is not trying to show a profit. He does it for a hobby.
