All depends what group you want to cater to! The hard-core gamblers will be there no matter what time it is. I think the card should have no more than 12 races carded when they host a marquee race. Send it to post by 9:45 or 10. Keep the patrons enthused with interviews and raffles. If they have a good grand prize prior to the last race,they will stay.

Years ago, Blue Bonnets used to card the feature overnight pace as the first. I guess a way to get fans in early.
