in amateur events at Monticello than regular raceway stock there.  The purse is $ 7k and you never know how fast they will go.  Check the results from Monday 7-10-23.  Race 1 went 1.55.2 and race 5 went 2.00.1!

fractions race 1     26.2   55.1    (28.4)   1:25.2    (30.1)   1:55.2    (30.0)

fractions race 5     28.3   1:01.3    (33.0)   1:31.2    (29.4)   2:00.1    (28.4)

Driver of the horse who went the second quarter in .33 should get days for excessively slowing the pace.

I had four $4000 claimers at Pompano in the mid 80's. Many weeks all four actually raced. My partners and I lost our shirts. Training, Vet , and Farrier bills grinded us into mulch. I was hoping to jump in again with a 5-6 claimer here in Maine, but the purses are dismal. I love Harness Racing. Just not conducive for the "little guy" to have a chance to maybe break even. LOL!

I had claimers in the 80's too and it was tough to survive, but in today's harness world the "little guy" doesn't stand a chance and you can lose a small fortune trying it .

👍 This kind of partnership works best when only 1 member of the group is "Racing Game" savvy. This way the trainer doesn't have to make 5 calls every time an issue arises.
