Well it’s going to take about 11-15 months but robin is going to purchase balmoral park and revitalize Chicago harness racing. Dana is giving her $6 million to buy the property and another $4 million to clean up the property and get it ready for harness racing. The old announcer scott earlick said it will be within 2 years. It will not be any kind of casino. Just horse racing only and robin said she will also have tbred meets too. Chicago horse racing is on the come back. Thank you robin.

That's what I was thinking.  Harness racing can't support itself.  If there is no casino possibilities who would invest in that?  I'm calling bullshit on this entire thread anyway.

I AGREE BUT IF YOU KNOW THE HISTORY OF ODDS ON DANA YOU MIGHT THINK DIFFERENTLY. HE HAS NEVER TRIED TO MAKE MONEY IN THE HARNESS BUSINESS. DANA NEEDED TAX WRITE OFFS SO HE JUST BLOWS MILLIONS ON PURPOSE. WHY DO YOU THINK HE HIRED ROBIN? SHE WAS ONLY A GROOM AND RECEPTIONIST IN THE RACE OFFICE. THE GUY WANTS TO LOSE MONEY TO OFFSET HIS GAINS. Not sure if construction will start that quick. They are looking at using mile track for Tbreds and building a 5/8 harness track inside. Ain’t going to be cheap the place needs a lot of work

This is completely unrealistic. Illinois offers NO support for another track, and the gaming industry has as much hold on Illinois, as the Casinos in Atlantic City do on the rest of New Jersey. Give it up. Ain't go to happen

My question is why does Robin and company think people will go without a casino attached? Besides the Meadowlands, what harness track has any attendance worth mentioning? I give potential project no chance to succeed.

No attendance at The Meadowlands , either. There is only 2 tracks that have a live crowd. Saratoga and Delmar, both Thoroughbreds.

Exporter is right, on that statement. Also the TB Industry reinvests a great deal of money into event attendance and promotion. Harness Racing, (The "Blue Collar" Cousin), cant be bothered with reinvesting into its events. Ridiculous considering while the industry scratches its head as to why there is no renewed and viable interest in the sport.  Maybe a start is to break up the Monopoly that Hanover is, ie: largest breeder, owner of the largest sales company, president of the USTA...etc. etc. etc. sounds like an anti-trust case no one has yet challenged.
