Bad Luck Superfecta
« on: June 15, 2023, 06:36:24 AM »
How's this for some shit luck, had the superfecta in the 7th race at the Meadows on Saturday, 21-1 Ship Ship Hooray on top. I immediately checked to see how much was in the pool, I almost sh*t when I saw $266. I thought it must be a mistake. Had the only winning ticket in the country, 21-1 shot on top and win $181.50. Tracks should have to have minimum pools.

Zero comparison between harness betting and sports betting. Taking the superfecta for $ 181 with 21-1 is criminal alas dead money sport.

But this is not a first so if Panhunter is an astute follower of the Meadows, he has to know from experience that the Superfecta pools are miniscule and not worth betting into. Also, unless he hit the double digit longshot on top in some sort of a wheel or spreadbet, if he was actually locked onto the longshot, wouldn't his money have been better off put to win on the bomb horse?

Is it not the same with harness bettors.... look at this site....zero discipline with guys that would bet a donkey if it was hooked to a cart. I'll take a 10% rake against 20% plus any day, every day for action.

Fugguzi, the pools were small, true, but you could still make a couple thousand on a good bet. They ruined the f**king bet when Hollywood raised the bet to .50 from .20. This was just a complete brain failure on my part. I guess after 57 yrs of betting these plow horses hasn’t helped much, but hey, if you got it why not spend! Good luck, how bout them Cowboys!

Hey buddy, I apologize if it came off like I was knocking you, I wasn't.  Just trying to say you seemed too smart and experienced to let that happen to you.

Nope, taken my lumps harness wise over the years, have kept my head above water sports betting and paid for it all and then some this year with Nvidia and Tesla  tmbz1

Doesn't that happen with all forms of gambling ?
Racing, Casinos and sports not really any difference.
Except the 1990 World Series is the exception. The Oakland A's were huge favorites and they got swept. The bettors were doubling and tripling down each game thinking that the A's had to win one and they never did. Cincinnati Reds won 4-0.
