Atlantic City Race Course

(1/1)

Meadow Ford:
As a young man in the 70's I loved racing there!
Pompano Park training side in the winter and ACRC in the spring. What could be better for a young single guy with no commitments.
Lots of barns.
Lots of area.
The beach not far away.
Haughton, Dancer, Miller, O'Brien all had stables there of their young horses.
A big good track kitchen full of trainers and grooms for breakfast and lunch.
I won a 2 year old pace there on night where all four colts in the  picture ended up as sires in NZ.
I asked the girl from the program dept for a date.
She laughed and said "Arn't you gay".
What a blow to my ego!
I said "NO".  So then I had to prove it to her.
That was good for my ego!

Meadow Ford:
No Old Guy wrong young lady, but lets not name names.

Meadow Ford:
Loved Atlantic City Raceway.
One Sunday three or four of us are bar hopping on The Boardwalk.
A (Gentleman) stops us and asks"
"What are you boys looking for?"
"I can get you White, Black, Gray, or Grizzly"
"Eighteen to Eighty, Blind, Crippled, or Crazy"
"So whats your pleasure??

It was a fun town those days. When that race meet was over we got more rest at night.
