Timely's Best Man had the worst knees I have ever seen on a race horse. How he raced in the upper classes is amazing.

I don’t know if this is true or not but Stan Banks told me he was flying back from Springfield fair with Frank to Chicago to race at Sportsman’s one time and Frank was flying the plane. Don’t know if Frank had his pilots license or not. But he said they hit a thunderstorm and Frank flew the plane upside for a few seconds until he straightened it out. Don’t know if Frank had his license or not. And I don’t know if this is bullshit or not. Lol

It's bullshit.

That was Denzel Washington in the movie Flight.

I think Mark OMara was a bit young when he went undefeated, and two year old of the year at two with Jate Lobell. Mark was listed as trainer, but do you think Frank might have been behind the scenes?

Late 80's Maywood Park Qualifiying morning. I am in the paddock, when I see and hear most everyone scurry up to the track. I go up to see whats up. I ask the guy at the fence whats all the commotion about. He says "OMara has his good two year old in this one".  That was the start of his undefeated season.

Anybody know or care about the story behind the development of The O'Mara overcheck bit?
