Hoosier Park Friday 5/26 Picks
« on: May 26, 2023, 01:01:16 AM »
Great card

R8 - #3 Mull of Kintyre - Closed in 25.3 in a torrential downpour last week after an awful drive. Should be much the best here.

R10 - #3 Pretty N Sassy - Feels like they're holding something back with this one. Has plenty of speed but four straight noncompetitive drives. If she's put in position to win she'll capitalize.

R14 - #6 Ultra Image - Have heard this horse is a beast. Closed in 25.4 behind Coach Stefanos last week. Might get smashed at the windows given the Trace/TG angle but anything near 9/2 is great value.

  • Sweet: Thankfully Mike is on the case, along with NYCLASS and other protestors.  When any side has no represenation, then they're screwed, because money and power rule of ethics i.e. the horse racing industry and how it cannot self sustain.  Pacer 2 and G are evil, nuts too!  tmbz1

  • dougie: IIB, I think the mayor will sign the bill if it reaches his desk. The optics on this issue is bad for the horse carriage industry. Animal activists are adept to using the media to enlist horror and anger by the public.

  • Ignorance Is Bliss: It's now a bill with city council. Public hearings will be scheduled then the council votes on it. If passed it's sent to the Mayor to sign into law. He has already said he's in. Marte just took over, Bob Holden is the actual author of the bill who retired last year.

  • dougie: IIB, I have been reading some of the work Councilman Marte has been doing on this issue. I think he might be successful with passing the 'Ryders Law" Bill this time around. The image of the horse dead on the street has even been seen here everywhere. If the animal activists can get this on the ballot, who knows how the vote will go.
