There is no doubt of Ward's substance abuse. The who game was the Wild Wild West during this period. Northfield was well aware of this situation as well as all the horse drugging and race fixing by the drivers. This was the Bob Belcher era. Ward, returned to the winners circle and fell out of the bike, high as a kite.
My post was nothing more than acknowledging a man who once was having success returning after 19 years. David Ward must be close to 60 years old. I don't see him reviving his career as a driver. But, good luck and stay safe.
