There is a reason why Takter has the horses he does.
He has good drugs

Pecker did have Takter type yearlings . Did not fare all to well. But, i don't think it is fair to judge anyone to a Jimmy Takter standard.

He's been mentally evaluated for 20yrs..its been official for a long long time..a runaway 18wheeler heading for the cliff.

Guy fits the profile of some of these shooters you see on TV.

I think a monkey could have trained Muscle Hill, let's be honest. Peck was lucky to be associated with him, but I don't really count him as paramount to the horse's success.

This is not true, ask Peck, he will tell you horse would have been nothing without him.

We will never know what would have been. He trained him live with it. As I remember he also had Holiday Road, won the Peter Haughton. He's weird but ya can't say he wasn't successful that year.

I think maybe Brian Sears was a key factor in his success..the White Knight is a very knowledgeable horseman, not just a driver. Much like Mike Lanchance did.!! IMHO

You're not wrong. However, his lack of success with presumably good stock thereafter isn't the best. Maybe part of that is his personal problems, though. I have no idea what he would be like to deal with as a trainer (from an owner's perspective) but it probably isn't sunshine and roses.
