...every harness player knows the script

So obvious, the Father trainer instructed the rider of his to let his sons trained win

clearly
but kudos to the judges for having some balls, 30 days and the guy came second
they reviewed numerous races form the last 30 days and determined compared to those races this was a lesser effort
standardbred judges take note
start tossing a few 7 race day suspensions out to guys who give no effort to horses that should be driven more aggressively
and no drivers claiming stupidity is not a viable excuse

that will get the drivers attention

Clear lack of effort.  Wish harness judges would start doing the same.

Jock was blatantly holding on to run second.  He deserves whatever penalty he was given.  This should happen more often.

Looks to me like  the TB judges care more about the integrity of the  sport than the Harness judges do!

With the increase of harness racing purses, the n/w of 1,2,3 or 4 pm races are very difficult to score on unless you have reliable inside information.

  • ScrapeThePaint: Mike Petrelli diagnosing harness racing is like a backseat driver using a plastic toy steering wheel to tell the chauffeur how to navigate a blizzard. He acts like he holds the blueprint to standardbred perfection, but the second real trainers walk into the barn, Mike disappears into the shadows—probably trying to remember if a harness attaches to the front or the back of the horse!

He’ll sit there dissecting driver tactics and sulky geometry with absolute confidence—right up until you put him within ten feet of an actual horse, at which point he'd start looking for an elevator button on the stirrup!
