Who's the most famous person you ever saw in the bike?
« on: November 03, 2022, 06:20:54 AM »
There was a charity race at Balmoral Park where George Steinbrenner and Mike Ditka competed. There were 2 Bears players in a 4 horse race.

I know on the east coast 1 of the fashion designers (Oleg Cassini maybe) raced at Freehold?

Who do you remember?
well, it's game over here at Maywood. thanks johnny Johnston for giving us fans the shaft!

Oleg Cassini definitely raced at Monticello and Pompano, I am not sure about Freehold. He was a horseman in his younger days, and had he not commenced driving horses when he was about 70, he might have been competitive, certainly with the amateurs we see today.

I was with him at Pompano when he came out of the pocket prematurely, interfered with another, and was DQ’d. Later, I told him he should have put his right turn signal on before moving. Fortunately, he had a sense of humor.

Cassini definitely drove at Freehold. Artie Unger trained his horses.
