The goal was a world Record --- you don't leave that in the hands of horsemen to set the proper fractions for you.

He got beat --- it happens --- takes nothing away from what he has accomplished criss crossing the country this year.

I always thought the goal was to win the race.  If world record comes with that then thats fine. Winning is more important then breaking a world record that you already own.  Stupid move by trainer.  Can't blame Dunn if thats what trainer told him to do.

Allywag Hanover is a monster in his own right, In a race like this where Allywag didnt have to deal with a shuffle or getting parked, he could flaunt his stuff. He is just as fast as Bulldog. People forgot about him as his dumb owners never sent the payments in for about 3 big stakes....but that actually helped him here. He is the fresher horse.  Do not forget without Bulldog in these fields, Allywag would be dominating this group again and headed to the a 2nd straight aged pacer of the year. Bulldog is the best but Allywa is going to be back next year and is likely going to dominate them as the 3yo crop coming back at 4 looks weak.
