Interesting Condition at Cal Expo
« on: March 20, 2022, 09:32:25 PM »
Race 3

It looks like there are three open trotters at CAL EXPO and cannot get the race to fill.
so
they had a mix gate race...

Trotters drew 1-3 and the pacers drew 4-6 --- the pacers were bottom level condition pacers were racing for $3k and tonight ran for $5k

Winner --- a pacer got up at the wire.

Because I'm bored and watching TVG... the upcoming 4th at Cal Expo you could see a $2.60 exacta, 1-2

Green Mountain used to do that all the time. But on a 13/16 mile like that, and on a miler like CalExpo, this really doesn’t put the pacers at much of a disadvantage. On a half mile track, it would be more significant.

Rebel Aaron, 17 year old Kim Crawford. Couldnt beat Miami Beach when Doherty shipped in from Foxboro, but a fine pacer nonetheless

You veterans remember JM Gregory, with Carl LaBombard. Saw him break his maiden in the Green Mtn mud in a time of about 2:44. Later that year, scored in about 2:01 at Saratoga. Clearly, this 43 second drop in lifetime record in one year, is a record that won’t be beat.

Remember one night at GM It was so muddy the car couldn’t clear at the start so the #5 had to go AROUND the gate.  Talk about a handicap!
