need something similar at mohawk

Exactly!
Woodbine has to put in a similar clause, drivers need a minium number of starts at Mohawk to be eligible to drive in their stakes races.

I find it fascinating when watching races at the Big M that when a driver lets a fellow driver go shortly after the 1/4 & they then stay in that position until the head of the lane it is almost always the case that the front horse will drift off the pylons. The interesting part is when you watch the head-on of the replay, the lead horse bears out a length or so off the rail (supposedly because the horse is tired) but then miraculously goes straight or even sometimes drifts back in for the rest of the stretch. My question is if the horse is so tired that it drifts out at the head of the lane, why does it stop drifting out & goes in a straight line once the fellow driver has advanced up the rail? You would think the further the horse goes through the lane the more tired the horse would be & the more (not less) it would drift as he advances through the lane. It almost seems like the horse on the lead at the head of the stretch is so exhausted it drifts but then catches his second wind & goes straight. Very strange?

THE DRIVER WOULD THEN IN THEORY BE GRABBING MORE ON THE LEFT LINE TO KEEP THE HORSES STRAIGHT THIS NEGATING ANY POTENTIAL FORWARD PROGRESS BECAUSE THE HORSES IS PARTIALLY RESTRAINED.

GOOD STUFF TO WATCH FOR BEFORE YOU MAKE ANOTHER BET.

Not likely...it's just Jeff looking for some attention since his publicity department can't boast about the handle.

Sounds like Friday nights will have 5 amateur races.

How can you say you want to provide the best product, then card amateurs every week?

It's all about controlling the industry to Gural. Icluding control of the drivers. Its also very much about his money. Until he gets a chance to put his name on amatuer races and have them willfully kiss his ass all year long. That's also appealing to him.

Good thing these "rules" weren't in place last year,  Brett Miller and Dan Noble would not have been eligible to drive there 🤔🤔🤔🤔

I think it's ridiculous to say the least. Most of the top drivers drive there from spring to late fall & only missing  few nights for stake races elsewhere. So if a driver wants to come drive a horse from let's say the Midwest he has to be approved first? WTH kinda rule is that? I think he's just mad that the top guys take a few months off in the winter & leaves the Meadowlands with a lower colony of drivers. Most of the top drivers are always on the go from May-Oct. They deserve to take a break & recharge. I can't wait to talk to some of the drivers & hear their opinion
