yonkers cancelled again

   yonkers cancelled after 1 race due to frozen track condition.

FROZEN.    Its 15 degrees colder in Monticello.    Woodbine its 20 degrees colder.   Poor excuse!!!    Get a REAL TRACK SUPERINTENDENT!!!!!!

Wow--went to have a wager--races called off because of track conditions.
Same incompetent track person-strikes again.How hes allowed on the track is unbelievable.
I just spoke to couple old horsemen-all said this level of cancellations AFTER everyone has received Lasix and arrived at the track is unprecedented.Nev er happened at this rate--ever in the History of Yonkers. SAD
In their opinion ALL judges need to be fired and owners compensated for losses.
1)Judges get paid- when races are cancelled after the first race.They have 0 interest in making sure track is suitable for racing after 11 am in AM because by clamming up-they OK racing when they should not--and they get paid.
2)the security and guards get paid
3) the Lasix Vet gets ALL races done at 20$ a pop.
4) grooms paid-despite not working at the track.
Who loses money?--the OWNERS-same people who support all the racing.Truck use,gas used,tolls,grooms paid, training fees paid for 2 weeks no racing,lasix paid even though no racing etc etc.
Yonkers has this backwards-and needs to stop--I see a lawsuit coming on.

when batavia cancelled their closing night due to high winds they paid out all the purse money splitting it up evenly to all horses in each race.

With all those funds you are stuffing into your pockets, why doesn't the NY Whorsemen's "ASS"ociation spend some money for track maintenance at Yawnkers. That way the NY Whorsemen's "ASS"ociation could sue themselves for racing on an unsafe track

I don’t understand.. If Buffalo Raceway is able to race all winter with all the crappy weather conditions they have up in western Ny , I’m sure Yonkers could figure it out if they really wanted to.. Shoot, I don’t recall Roosevelt or Yonkers cancelling back in the day.. Horseman are really getting screwed over..

Absolutely, Empire. I recall many snow storms and racing was not canceled @ RR or Yonkers. It is all about the will and commitment or lack of, from management.
