report i saw said track conditions... Frozen

Track was rated fast for first race, but the big favorite made a nasty break after the first turn and the third favorite broke before the start.

How can the track freeze that fast when it is just starting to get cold?  Maybe too much water applied to keep the dust down? What are they going to do when the weather really gets cold?   It is colder in Northfield Park Ohio and they are racing tonight.
